Heart Of An Empire is a film about the worldwide organization known as the "fighting 501st"
My film, Heart of an Empire, started as a funny and energetic exploration of the history of the "501st" group from its inception through present day. As I filmed a select portion of its individual members - both in costume and their 'real lives' - it has become much more, as we have peeled back the many layers and discovered many surprising stories.

In only 5 years, the 501st have increased in numbers from 2 to 3,000, and managed to carve a name for itself as a staple for many well known charity organizations, gained the respect of one of the most well known/recognized production companies in the world, and secured themselves firmly in pop culture. Yet they are still misunderstood.

Heart of an Empire is a film for a general audience. The humanity I've witnessed from members and their influence around the world have a universal truth that everyone - not just fanatics - can relate to. Their role in a seemingly unwinnable war and life-and-death fight of one little girl that stopped the world, will amaze and inspire you.
